The Billerica Public Library is hosting a Dementia Friends Info Session on Wednesday, July 10th at 7 p.m. Did you know that about 120,000 people in Massachusetts alone live with dementia? And moreover, that 12% of our neighbors in Billerica that are 65+ are affected by the disease? Come to this info session, led by Daria Rabkin, Senior Wellspring Village Director at Brightview Concord River, and Dementia Champion, to learn five key messages about dementia and a bit about what it’s like to live with the disease. By participating in this program you will become a Dementia Friend, and will be able to turn your new understanding of dementia into a practical action that can help someone with dementia living in your community. Your action can be as big or as small as you choose – because every action counts! While this info session is not a formal training, it is a great opportunity to understand dementia and the small things you can do to make a difference for people living with dementia in our community. Registration is required.
