Discovery Kids: Sandsational Science(grades K-4)

Wednesday, May 84:30—5:30 PMMeeting Room Lower LevelBillerica Public Library15 Concord Road, Billerica, MA, 01821

Join us for 'DISCOVERY KIDS', our series of afterschool, interactive, enrichment programs for children grades K-4, which expose kids to the wonders of our scientific and natural world.

Join us at Sand-Sational Science! Mr. Steve is planning to bring SAND to this summer themed science program, but as usual, his experiments go awry and his Sand Collection is not quite right! It is up to the students to figure out how he can separate the sand from this mixture so they can all get down to trying out his Sand experiments. Once we do have sand, Mr. Steve will have a Beach Magic Trick (the "Disappearing Seashell"), a Sand Mystery (what are these sands made of?), and a Small Service for the Librarians (testing the library sand for "sand-bugs"...) that he will provide, all helping to show the many wondrous things that can be done with plain old sand!

Required online registration starts Monday, April 22 at 9:00 a.m.

NOTE:  Children traditionally will go into the program without their parents/caregivers.   HOWEVER, FOR THIS PROGRAM, AT THE PERFORMER'S REQUEST, CAREGIVERS PLEASE BE PREPARED THAT YOU MAY BE REQUESTED TO COME IN TO THE PROGRAM TO HELP OUT WITH THE HANDS-ON COMPONENT.  ALSO, CHILDREN ARE EXPECTED TO BE ABLE TO SIT POLITELY AND INDEPENDENTLY DURING THE PRESENTATION.  ANY INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR MAY RESULT IN THE CAREGIVER HAVING TO SIT WITH THE CHILD.

This program is funded by the Family Friends of the Billerica Public Library.

Registration for this event has now closed.
