April is Poetry Month!  Help Celebrate by creating and submitting a Luck Poem for a chance to win a mystery gift card!  Luck Poetry was invented by Billerica's very own, Megan Libby when she was a teen here at the library.

A luck poem consists of :  a 7 letter title, 7 lines per poem, and 7 words per line.   (So each poem has 49 words and a 7 letter title)

Here is an example by the creator of Luck Poetry, Megan Libby
Firefly
A million tiny lights in the sky
Mixing with the cosmos, dancing and swaying
Singing the most beautiful song without words.
A tiny glow matched only by stars,
Taking you back to a different world.
A summer night in a child’s past.
A night of dancing with the fireflies.

Who can enter: For grades 5-12, enter as many times as you’d like.

Where and when: Submit your poems with your name, phone number, grade and school on the back to me, the teen librarian.   Leave your poem with me or place it in the box marked Luck Poetry Entries near my desk in the Teen Department.   It should be on the paper provided.
