In a world where there is so much to know, we're more reliant than ever on quality information. But how do we know which information we can trust? Is there anything we can do to guard ourselves against "fake news"? In this non-partisan presentation, we'll explore strategies to help us evaluate news sources and identify fake news. We'll also consider hidden psychological factors that can subconsciously influence our judgments about the news reports we see in traditional and social media.

About the presenter: Gordon Arnold, Ph.D., is the author of six nonfiction books and was formerly a professor of sociology at Montserrat College of Art. He is presently working on a historical book about the UFO outbreak of 1947 and the rise of government conspiracy theories.
